After really thinking back about the whole year I am amazed by how much work I have done. This is probably the only class that I didn’t get bored working. It is not like the work we did was easy but the way worked on it and the way it was presented to us was the best. I never had to work under the pressure of working and I never got tired and wanted to kill myself for working on a project. Also the way that Mr. C made us work was amazing. There were very few moments when Mr. C showed us how to solve something unless it was very critical. We had to discover different ways to solve a problem and work accordingly. This skill of independent working helped me a lot in my other classes as well. I really think it is a very important skill for every individual. Working independently takes care of one of the biggest which is depending on someone for something. Personally I am a very independent person and I hate to depend on someone for something. Depending on someone can cause a lot of problems. Some of the problems that I have faced are that the other person is not responsible enough. Working with irresponsible person is the worst thing. It is a horrible feeling and unfortunately I have to face that quiet often. Apart from that I have also discovered many new things in terms of new technology and also problem solving. I am very happy that I got the opportunity to take this class. Unfortunately enough we need to take it only once and I have to choose something for next year. Hopefully it is going to be as amazing as this was but it is quite unlikely that it is going to happen.
This is a short week. We have like 3 more weeks for school with the finals week. It is both good and bad. The good part of it that school is finishing. On the other hand since school is finishing we are going to have more and more assignments. Also if we mess up in one of the assignments then that just means there we are going to have less opportunity to fix that mistake and bring our grades up again. This is the most crucial part of the whole school. After working really hard for the whole year everyone is tired and looking at only 3 school weeks left everyone goes into a holiday mood. Many people start slacking off and their grades start to fall. I really need to be focused and make sure that I don’t start to slack off. I really don’t want to end this year in a bad way.
The new thing that Mr. C told us was really a good thing to hear. He said that we only have to do six things out of those nine things. This means that I only need to do 5 more. I am really planning on doing the right assignment for the right topic. This is probably like the hardest part of the whole project because it is a really hard thing to decide and since we can’t do a topic once again, you really have to think about what topic to choose and for what assignment. This is the hardest project ever and I am happy that we are doing a project that is this vague because we won’t have constructive instruction for every project we do.
We have a long weekend next week that is not really long. We just have Sunday off which isn’t enough. Also this is like the only off day we have in this month which is my opinion is really less. I think the school should focus on giving us some more off days each month. As of now I don’t really have any specific plans for the weekend. I am planning on going to the beach and stuff but it is not certain. Whenever I don’t have any plans for weekends I end up doing much more fun things. So I am hoping that this is going to be one of those weekends.
This week is sort of an easy week. I have only 1 quiz and 1 test. I don’t have a lot of work. This is a really nice thing because last week I had a lot of work. I had to work all last weekend in order to get my projects done. This weekend was just opposite. I didn’t work a whole lot. We also had the prom this weekend. I didn’t go because I didn’t really feel like dancing and there wasn’t really anything else to do other than that. I talked with some of my friends who went and they were like it was ok-ish. So I don’t really think I missed a whole lot. I was planning on going to the beach this Saturday but it was too hot so that plan changed as well. So I ended up watching movies and shows all weekend. We have the elections soon as well so I am scared about that as well. I don’t think we should have school on those days because it might be dangerous.
The events in Cairo were quiet scary. Mubarak supporters attacked anti-Mubarak supporters and eleven people died. Out of those eleven people there was a soldier as well. I actually expected something like this to happen. I thought it would be much bigger and make the situation more chaotic. There is still some time for some more chaos and i am quiet sure that something like that would happen. I am actually quiet excited to see how the elections go. I am sure that all the citizens of Egypt are extremely excited to see how it goes. This is going to be extremely crucial for the future of Egypt and all of its citizens. I am actually a little scared of the elections. It is mainly because looking at how people have reacted to having candidates from the groups that they don’t want to have as the ruling party. So it is going to be exciting to see the events pre-election and also post- election.
The new project that we started in IT is extremely hard and long. We have to make 9 projects for one big project. It is a huge project. It is called digital citizenship. It consists of 9 different topics and we have to display the topics using 9 different tools that we have used this yet. It is a very hard project. It is hard mainly because of how vague and broad the whole thing is. For each of the 9 topics the project can be led to any direction. There is no perfect outline on how to do each of the projects. This is extremely hard for me because I work very comfortably with concrete information. It is one of my weaknesses and i am working on it. I am very nervous about the project. I have talked to many other people and they are confused as well. I am doing my best and i am sure that my hard work will pay off.
This week we have a lot of assignments due. I had a project due today and an essay. I also had a quiz today in French. I have a lot of assignments due almost every day. We also started a project in IT which is extremely hard. I think it is the hardest and the longest project I have ever done. It is quite a different project and I am really excited with how this project goes. I also have a test next week in science. There is an also long assignment in science as well. I am very nervous about how my performance is going in science. I don’t know why but I am having some difficulty to understand some of the things. I think it might be just normal because biology is a very big and hard idea. I have talked to some of the AP Biology students and they said it is even harder. One of the classes I was planning on taking AP Bio in 11th grade but now I am thinking about what to do. There are only a couple of weeks left. I am excited to see how this whole thing goes.
